Office of Digital Learning, The University of Notre Dame
Extended Reality intern
During my tenure as an Extended Reality Intern at the Office of Digital Learning, University of Notre Dame, I undertook the intricate task of transforming a business case study into a comprehensive virtual reality (VR) classroom experience. This role required me to design and implement an entire VR curriculum, implementing an adaptive UI kit specifically tailored for VR business studies to improve both usability and accessibility. Utilizing cutting-edge tools such as Unity, C#, and the XR Interaction Toolkit, alongside advanced character animation software like Reallusion iClone 8 and Character Creator 4, I engineered an immersive educational environment that facilitated a unique learning experience for business students.
My responsibilities extended beyond technical development; I engaged in rigorous instructional design research and iterative design enhancements informed by direct stakeholder feedback, ensuring the final product not only met but exceeded educational goals. The documentation I created for each development phase has since become a vital resource for future Notre Dame developers aiming to further integrate XR technologies into academic settings. Additionally, my role as a consultant for the Extended Reality Collective Committee and collaboration with Hesburgh Library technologists underscored my commitment to advancing XR applications, contributing significantly to the enrichment of technological pedagogy across the university.
