Galaxy PAtrol
As both my coding and design skills advanced, so did my projects. My first major project included adding mods to the classic 1978 arcade game, Rocket Patrol.
Thus, I set out and created Galaxy Patrol, a multiplayer classic arcade shooter with the fundamentals of Rocket Patrol. Although we were constrained to stick as close to the original arcade aesthetic as possible, I tried adding my own additions in the form of custom Galaxy Patrol menu art, a special enemy alien for extra points, and of course implementing the classic “Wilhelm Scream” into the sound library.
Galaxy Patrol taught me the fundamentals in Phaser3, how to implement a simple Axis-Aligned Bounding Boxes collision system, and the importance of cohesive artistic direction. I am very happy with my remake of this retro classic!
